You will need six actors; a narrator, Peter, Jesus and three additional people.

[begin with Jesus and Peter center stage. You could have them sat at a table.]

Narrator: Earlier that day Jesus had told the disciples that someone was going to betray him.

Peter: It won’t be me!

Narrator: Peter had thought he would never walk away from his friend. Yet today was a difficult day.

Jesus: Peter, before the rooster crows, you will have denied me three times.

[Peter and Jesus turn to the back and the soldiers come from in front and grab Jesus. Peter walks behind].

Narrator: Later that day, the soldiers grabbed Jesus and took him to the High Priest’s house. Peter was following him from a distance. Some people kindled a fire and sat around it in the courtyard. Peter joined them. [Peter goes to sit with them]. As he sat by the fire, a young servant girl saw his face in the light of the fire and said…

Person 1: This man was with him also!

Peter: Woman, I don’t know him!

Narrator: Then a little later another person…

Person 2: You are also one of them!

Peter: Man, I am not!

Narrator: About an hour later another man spoke up and said…

Person 3: This man was definitely with him! They are both Galileans!

Peter: Man! I don’t know what you are talking about!

Narrator: At that moment, whilst Peter was still speaking, the rooster crowed. [Make a rooster sound effect.] Jesus turned and looked at Peter. Peter remembered what Jesus had said, that before the rooster crowed he would deny Jesus three times.
