Number of Players: 2 or more

Age of Players: 6 and above

You will need: lots of cups

Preparation: You will need to place cups all over the floor. Half of these cups should be turned upside down, half should be the right way up.

How to Play:

This game can be played in two ways; with two players or two teams.

Have two players/teams start at opposite sides of the room. One player/team must aim to turn the cups the right way up, the other must try and turn them upside down. When the game begins they must each run to the cups and try and turn them their way. The winner is the player that has the most cups standing in their chosen position (right way up or upside down) at the end of the game.

Applications:

CHANGE: Those cups were being flipped over so many times! That is an awful lot of changes. Unlike the cups, change for us can sometimes be pretty difficult. We don’t always like change. Change can be difficult, but sometimes change can also be amazing! God calls us to change to be more like Him too. When we begin to change in this way, it is the best thing ever!

COMING TO KNOW CHRIST: Just like those cups were changing from one way to another, when we come to know Jesus as our Lord and Savior things completely change! We suddenly see things in a different light.

OLD V NEW LIFE: Did you see how fast the players changed the cups? The bible says that when we come to know Christ we leave our old lives and selves behind. We become brand new! Everything changes – even if it doesn’t always feel that way. How cool is that?!

TRANSFORMATION: Those cups were flipped and changed over a number of times weren’t they?! Did you know that God wants to change our lives too? He wants to completely transform us into people that show His love and help other people understand who He is. Rather than living for ourselves, Jesus wants us to live for Him. That is one big transformation that can only be achieved through His Holy Spirit.
