Number of Players:

You will need: a list of tongue twisters, or at least one or two from the list.

How to Play:

Players take turns to try and say one of the tongue twisters on the list. They must say it as many times as they can without making a mistake. If a mistake is made the phrase is discounted. The player who says the tongue twister the most times within the allocated time period is the winner. You can play a number of rounds with different tongue twisters if you prefer to eliminate the worst player from each round. This would make the game last a little longer.

Applications:

Gossip: The ‘Tongue Twister’ Game shows us that words really can travel fast! We need to think about what we say to others. Are we gossiping or just retelling something that needs to be said? (Proverbs 11:13, 20:19, Psalm 34:13, 141:3, Ephesians 4:29, Matthew 12:36, Colossians 3:8)

Words: Our words are powerful. In the ‘Tongue Twister’ game it was really funny to see the players try and get their mouths moving fast… the only problem is, sometimes when we are too quick to speak we make mistakes. We say the wrong thing. It’s always better to think before we speak and to think about how someone will feel once the words have left our lips! (Proverbs 12:18, 15:1, 16:24, 18:21, 21:23, Ephesians 4:29, James 3:1-12)
