Session Theme: Jesus isn’t finished—He’s coming back to fix what’s broken and make all things new.
Core Scripture:
📖 Revelation 21:4 – “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain…”
Just like a broken game can be redeemed and transformed, Jesus promises to return—not just to fix what’s wrong, but to restore everything to perfection. This is the final update we’re waiting for.
SET the Scene:
Icebreaker
“Worst Game Launch Ever?”
Ask: “What game did you try that totally flopped at launch—but got better later?”
Let a few share. Bring up No Man’s Sky if they don’t.
Glitch Fix Challenge
Ask:
- “What’s the worst glitch you’ve ever seen in a game?”
- “How did it feel when it finally got fixed?”
Let them share and laugh, then pivot:
“Now imagine a world full of glitches—violence, injustice, heartbreak—and imagine someone promising to fix all of it.”
SPOT the Simple Meaning:
Discussion:
Use these questions:
- Why do you think people stuck with No Man’s Sky after its failure?
- What do you think it means that Jesus will return?
- How does Jesus’ return give hope in the middle of a broken world?
- What’s something in the world—or your life—you wish Jesus would restore?
Deep Dive Discussion
Ask:
- What does it mean that Jesus will return someday?
- What stands out to you about Revelation 21:4?
- What’s something in your life or the world you hope He restores?
- How do we live now, knowing that Jesus will return?
SEARCH the Scriptures:
Read Acts 1:11 – “This same Jesus… will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven.”
Ask: “Why do you think the early Christians held onto this promise so tightly?”
SENSE How You Feel:
Prompt:
“Close your eyes. Picture a world with no pain. No death. No anxiety. Just joy and peace.
That’s what Jesus is building.
Ask Him now: ‘Lord, help me live today with hope for Your return.’”
Guided Prayer:
Lead them through imagining Jesus returning—healing what’s broken in their own lives.
Prompt: “Jesus, here’s what I long to see restored in me / my family / the world…”
Let them journal or pray silently.
SEEK God:
Challenge:
“Be a part of the patch notes.”
Encourage youth to live like Jesus is coming soon—bringing hope, healing, and truth wherever they go.
Ask:
- How can you be part of the “restoration mission” now?
- What’s one way you can bring peace, healing, or joy to someone this week?
Challenge:
Live like Jesus is returning soon. Not with fear—but with purpose.
