The ‘A Person Plans His Way’ printable (Proverbs 16:9) is a great way to help children remember the verse. You could also use it as a way to speak about or discuss themes such as our direction in life, God’s guidance, listening to the Spirit and discerning His voice or planning and preparation.
The image of the ship is to give children a picture of their lives. We can choose to try and steer the ship of our lives in one direction, but perhaps God wants us to go in another direction. Like the wind, He will gently guide us if we take our hands off the steering wheel (helm) of our lives. When we are willing to let the Lord lead us we will be challenged and stretched yet will be amazed at what He can do with and through us.
