The ‘Delight Yourself in the Lord’ Printable (Psalm 37:4) helps you to visualize what it means to delight yourself in the Lord. It means to love the things that He loves and to love him for who he is and not only for what he can give you!
This printable is quite detailed and so it is probably more appropriate to use with children over 8, teenagers and adults.
Whilst coloring, you could ask these questions about Psalm 37:4:
- What do you love about Jesus?
- What does it mean to be ‘delighted’ with something/someone?
- When did you last feel delighted?
- Do you think you are ‘delighting’ in the Lord right now, in your life?
- How do you understand this verse? Does it mean that to love God we will get everything we want? Why/why not?
- What are some of the things that you desire for your life?
- How do you think you will get these desires?
- Do you think God wants the same things as you? Why/why not?
- When we delight ourselves in the Lord, we understand his heart and start delighting in the things he delights in. That way, we get the desires of our heart because they are the same desires he has. Do you think you have his desires in your heart, or your own?
