The parable of the Prodigal son is probably the most well known and well loved parable that Jesus told. The story tells of the father that gives his two sons their inheritance before he had died. The youngest son celebrates and takes the money that the father gives.

The Father Gives Money’ Coloring Sheet Printable’ shows the absolute glee of the youngest son as the farther hands over his money. Yet the oldest brother looks far more reserved. This highlights the character of the two sons and their expectations of what they might do with their money.

You’ll find the whole story of the Lost son in the Bible in Luke 15:11-32.  It’s a story that has stood the test of time. Children have been told this story over and over again and they love it! If you want to communicate the story in a simple to understand manner we suggest using the NIV or ICB versions or using a childrens story book such as the ones below.

If you’re doing a session on the love of the Father, you might find that the ‘All About My Dad’ and ‘A Change of Heart’ movie discussions come in use.
