‘God Mode’ is a Youth Ministry Teaching Series – The Gospel for Gamers. In this series gamers will learn about who God is and why he sent his Son Jesus into the world. This resource provides a unique opportunity to use a video based resource all around gaming  to reach Christian gamers for Christ.

Did you know that in the USA 85% of teens (13–17) play video games? (see research here)

Who is Victory Gaming?

This resource was written by Victory Gaming Founder and Creator George Herrera. George grew up playing video games before he accepted Christ in later life. He hopes to see gamers all over the world come to Christ. He shares the gospel with gamers through Victory Gaming resources and gospel gaming tournaments. How To Use this Resource:

This 8 part series a fantastic way to speak directly to gamers- those who love to play video games. We would suggest coupling the discussions with some free play of a video game or multiple video games and some food of your choice. This is a perfect resource to use within a small group of gamers, it doesn’t have to be a large number of young people participating.

Do I Need to Know about video games to use this resource?

Although a basic understanding of video games would be useful (especially if you will have a console for young people to play on during the session) you do not need a deep understanding of each game referenced. Simply having an open mind and showing an interest in the games that the young people love will communicate that you care. Young people don’t expect you to know and love everything they are interested in, but they will appreciate that you took an interest in asking them about their own hobbies.

This resource uses examples and language that gamers will relate to, in a way that clearly shares the gospel. We’d suggest talking with parents about using this resource as it has some references to more mature games such as Halo:Reach (age 17+).
