AIM: The ‘Pirates’ teaching series was written by Kidz Klub UK as outreach material and as part of their intent to reach the children of the UK with the gospel. Kidz Klub ran in different churches all over the country with a passion to see families and communities transformed by Christ.
There are tons and tons of ways you can decorate your room for this Pirate themed teaching series.
Check out the Pirate theme Pinterest board for ideas.
This series will be tons more fun if your team dresses up as pirates – or if you encourage your children to dress up as pirates too. This could be as part of one of your sessions or as a separate outreach event.
SMALL GROUP GAME IDEAS:
- Pirate Pop Up Game. Why not have fun with the Pirate Pop Up game as part of a small group – tons of fun and an opportunity to hang out together as well as stay on theme!
In this session children will learn that although fighting is easy, they can work together in peace with each other.
Children will hear how Joseph was affected by the words of Potiphar’s wife. They will see how lying hurts people and learn that they can tell the truth.
We are not to be ashamed of the gospel – that is the theme of this session that encourages children to see that they can be bold about their relationship with Jesus.
4) TRUST IN GOD
We can trust God and He will keep us safe, that’s the important message behind this lesson.
5) LIVE RIGHT
The idea of this session is to help children understand that ultimately they will be winners if they live right.
6) FOUR POINTS
A strong gospel message lies at the heart of this session on the four points of the Good News about Jesus.
7) BE CHANGED
Children will learn about Paul and how he was changed on the inside by a new way of thinking.
Paul needed encouragement, and that’s just what Barnabas was good at – and kids will learn that they can encourage others too.
As children hear about how God healed a man that could not walk, they will see that nothing is impossible with God.
Even when Paul was stoned he never gave up – this lesson will encourage children to see that they can do everything they need to do, because God makes them strong.
11) GOD WILL FORGIVE
As John the Baptist taught all about forgiveness of sin, children will be taught in this lesson that God will forgive when they turn to Him.
12) GREAT NEWS
The great news is that Jesus is here! Children will be reminded of the birth of Christ and how he was welcomed to the world as great news for everyone!
