AIM: This is a 4 week teaching series on the life of Paul (or some of it!) aimed at showing children how they can live a life with and for Jesus. Just as Paul had to learn how to live for Jesus, so we must learn and grow in our relationship with Him, always looking forward, yet learning from the past.
In this session children will learn about Paul’s conversion and how he became a new creation in Christ. Children will see that they can start afresh, reflecting on what they have learned and thinking forward for how they would like things to be. They will learn that when they accept Christ they are a new creation.
Paul and Silas soon saw opposition once they began preaching. A young girl who told the future followed them. When they freed her from this they were forced into prison themselves. Yet when they praised, God released them from jail in a miraculous way. Children will learn that they don’t need to be afraid or anxious – they can live freely, knowing that God is with them.
Paul and Silas travelled and preached seeing many people become Christians. In this session children will learn that starting over with Jesus means bringing God glory through the gifts that he gives us. This session covers prophecy, baptism, healing and speaking in tongues. Yet it also gives a foundational understanding of the Trinity. It is up to the leader to discern and pray over what they feel led to teach their children.
In this session children will learn about poor young Eutychus, who died and was raised back to life by Paul. Children will see that God can do unimaginable things and so they can trust Him to help them make the most of their lives!
